- Summary
- The King requested the noblesse and the clergy to assemble themselves as one house with the tiers. After some debate they have done so. As a result the King received a loud ovation from the people of Versailles. Tomorrow the states-general commences business again. Necker still in office, as are members of the council who oppose him; probably the members of the council remain because of Necker's uncertain position.
