- Summary
- In 1757 New York had 39 privateers and 4060 men employed in that business. Wants the province to outdo itself in privateering. Glad that McDougall's appointment will allow him to stay in New York City. Boyd has not fulfilled his contract to deliver muskets and should receive the indignation of the colony. A saltpeter work should be erected. The necessity of a tax is obvious and a light one should be passed. The colony is rich and it could be enforced. Jones at Boston are left to the mercy of patriots.
