Summary
It is possible to purchase arms and manufactured goods from the Prussian consul at Nantes. This may lead to a commercial treaty even though Prussia has not recognized the independence of the United States. When last at Berlin, Knoblauch learned that the courts of England and Russia had entered into a treaty of alliance. Henry Laurens told him to keep this secret, and he has not revealed it until now. Assisted Steuben in preparing the drill manual.
