The deponent says that the inhabitants of the land between the south side of the Devars Kill, and the two kills south of it, the Tiene Kill and the Hudson River, were settled under the jurisdiction of New Jersey. The deponent also said that there were settlements in Tappan southward of the old Court House, and that some of these settlements, to the best of his knowledge, were under the government of New York.
