- Summary
- Thanks Peloquin for his letter of 26 July; 6 & 10 August telling of his inquiries concerning possibility of putting Jay in a Bristol attorney's office. Thinks the five year term of Bristol attorney is too steep. Will wait to hear from James on situation in London. Has heard that a two year term in a lawyer's office is sufficient preparation for entering the Temple. Eve Jay is better but the "little lurking fever" still returns from time to time. Indians "continue the cruel Ravages on the Frontier," but an army of 1400 men is being raised at the expense of the province.
