John will graduate from college in a year. Wishes to become attorney, but New York lawyers have made an agreement to take no clerks for a number of years. Asks Peloquin to find John a place in London or Bristol, preferably Bristol. Peter has "hitherto no reason to doubt of his behaving well, as he is a youth reasonably sedate and is well disposed, but nevertheless, it's prudent to guard as much as possible, against the danger of bad company he would be exposed to in London, where he might probably be under no restraint, "further he should benefit from his apprenticeship to his cousin James de Peyter, who is a complete merchant," relative on business matters.
