- Summary
- The deponent, over 70, lives in Goshen north of Clinton's old line and is not interested in the outcome of the controversy. The first settlers of Goshen, Captain Christopher Denn and Captain Benjamin Ask, both held their land under the government of New York. Many residents of Minisink and Mackhackamack twenty to forty years ago were officers in the militia of Orange County under the government of New York, and trained at Goshen. The precinct of Minisink is in Orange County under the government of New York. Minisink Island is included in Minisink Precinct, which stretches from the bottom of said island twenty miles northward to Pinpack. Signed, William Knap, his mark. In Jay's hand.
