Summary:
Was attending the county court in Bedford; has just returned to New York for other business. Major Lyons has accepted his appointment; it is probably a mistake he has no commission as justice of the peace. Mr. Delancey was named justice of the peace but refuses to qualify. Youngs has received his commission but Mr. Pill refuses to give up the seal or the papers. Uncle Peter is doing very well. Mr. Rutherford agreed to the division of the Sussex swamp. Does not know Mr. Terry, unless it is reference to a hat maker in Poughkeepsie when he was in school there.
