- Summary
- Spoke to Mr. Anderson who presented a letter of introduction from Governor. Tichenor. On the subject of claims to lands in Vermont granted under New York, referred him to the commissioners appointed to receive these claims. Also, advised him to consult "Gentlemen of the Law" on a point of the treaty with Britain, feeling it improper in his present station to give an opinion on such matters. Hopes his forbearance will not be misconstrued.
