- Summary
- Major John Fenwyck [Fenwick] having been summoned from West New Jersey because of the disturbance he created there, appeared before the council and asked for time to answer and to prepare witnesses. He claimed that his interest was distinct from that of the Assizes at New York, and requested an appeal to the King.. He also asked for permission to go home. Both requests were denied, and he was referred to the judgment of the Court of Assizes. From the Book of Minutes of Council 1668-1678, 178 f New York Secretary's Office. Certified by Goldsbrow Banyar. Entered before the Commission to settle the boundary between New York and New Jersey 11 August 1769.
