- Summary
- Acknowledges receipt of 29 August. John Jay is glad to hear of the improvement in the health of his son and Mary, but is still anxious about Nancy. She should not leave the springs at Ballston too soon. John Jay is glad to hear from a letter from Maria that the members of his family are so pleased with each other. John Jay visited the church under construction, and found the water table bad and the bricks ill matched. He wishes that his son could be there to join Judge Miller and the Major in attending to the matter. Influenza is still quite prevalent in Bedford.
