Summary
Acknowledges receipt of 16 and 20 June. Munro's and Bleecker's advice on when to buy stock should give Peter sufficient information. John Jay's opinion of the codicil agrees with that of his son. Peter should write to Maria and Sally, because the appearance of inattention to their affection would be painful to them. The brick intended for the church is unsuitable. John Jay, who has not heard Mr. Canfield's opinion about it, presumes that Peter will attend to the matter. William, on his way to New Haven, received only a slight bruise when the stage overturned. Because Mr. Clarke bought a head of cattle, John Jay, who is low on cash, will send Bill for more unless Peter will bring some with him to Bedford by the next week.
