Summary
John Jay, on his way to Bennington, passed a pleasant evening at Pittsfield with Peter Van Schaack's brother. He almost decided to visit Peter on his return, but time was short. John Jay includes some pamphlets containing several novel ideas to be read and returned. He inquires about the outcome of Peter Van Schaack's "Dutch Prophecy." He is setting out for Philadelphia a week before the meeting of the Supreme Court on the first Monday in August.
