- John Jay, on his way to Bennington, passed a pleasant evening at Pittsfield with Peter Van Schaack's brother. He almost decided to visit Peter on his return, but time was short. He is setting out for Philadelphia a week before the meeting of the Supreme Court on the first Monday in August.
