John Jay was pleased to hear the news of the birth of a son to Mrs. Hale and of there cent marriage of Miss Williams to Captain Pinfold. Lady Amherst undoubtedly misses these two daughters at home, but may console herself by reflecting that "by rendering them aimiable and accomplished you have qualified them to fill their stations with propriety and to pass thro life with honor to themselves and to your Ladyship."
