- Summary
- Received Troup's of 26th. Dr. Ramsay's "Silence" began to appear singular. Paragraph from his letter with the bills he transmitted are "Agreeable Circumstances." When accepted, please inform. Troup's interest is obliging. Issue of election appears doubtful. Prepared for either success or defeat. Whatever outcome, will be able to form a "more correct Estimate of many Characters." Assured of Troup's attachment; regrets separation from other friends. Former office required much time with strangers, in present office is "but little at Home."
