Summary
Received Troup's of the 13th.Encloses copy of letter to Ramsay for Troup to read and forward. Letter from Troup to Ramsay might urge remittance of Balance on Bond. Suit on the bond would create Publicity "which ought and doubtless will be regarded by him" as an interesting circumstance. The neglect of Ramsay must have been occasioned by "something extraordinary." Troup's of the 20th just received. Efforts to exclude Otsego votes do not surprise Jay, "it is reputable to have such Enemies." The business is in good hands; perseverance, prudence and right operate powerfully.
