Answering Grand's letter of 30 November 1789, assures him that "as the sum is small, the difference of exchange is not important" and he is satisfied with the remittance. Americans wish success to the French revolution; opines that the French rational assembly might have gone too far to one "extreme." Expresses confidence in the new american government.
