Summary:
This morning saw Major Lethbridge who is on his way to England. He brought a letter from Mrs. Hale. Jay congratulates Lady A on the marriage of Mrs. Williams to Capt Pinfold, and on the birth of Mrs. Hale's child. Jay offers the comforting thought that if the loss of two young ladies from the household causes Lady A pain, she can reflect that she has sent them off accomplished and qualified to fill their stations with propriety and to pass through life with honor to themselves and to Lady A.
