- Summary
- A Mr. O'Connor wanted to come to America and bring some Irish immigrants with him but Jay suggested he come alone and then bring other settlers over later. He did this and was not able to make a go of it. He is now in debtors' prison. Jay thinks he is a simple, well-meaning person who is not very wise in the ways of the world. Thinks the legislation on insolvency should be changed even if it did not apply to O'Connor. Has not talked to his creditors so does not know their side of the story.
