Warns Jay that attitude of British government toward America has drastically. The riots in Philadelphia may account for this. Will try to bar United States from the West Indian trade. No chance at all for an Anglo-American commercial treaty. New York will not be evacuated until the late fall, "and then the army will only remove to Halifax ...."Former New Hampshire governor Wentworth has been named surveyor general Nova Scotia. Lord Stormont likely to become a favorite of the King. "Mr. Fox and Ld. North seem to know that their existence as ministers depends on their supporting each other and therefore are not likely to quarrel.' In poscript, Bancroft corrects earlier report on Oswald.
