- Trumbull encloses a resolution of the Connecticut legislature the members of which "have greatly harmonized in this measure, and are at present in the best disposition for making an amicable settlement of an unhappy affair." The measure had been "effected by the united and strenuous Exertions of the Friends of Order, good Government and social Harmony; and with an earnest hope that the State of New York will be disposed to meet them with the like good humour."
