- Summary
- Used wrong initials (S.I instead of D. J.J.) in letter of 23 February. Pities Caesar. If there is a United States consul nearby, he might be able to help. Approves of Peter's partnership with Peter Munro but suggests that it be managed "so, that he may not be disposed to terminate it at the End of the six Months." Encloses letter (not present) for Rev. Miller; Peter is to read it before sealing it and sending it on. Major Lyon has finally replied to Jay's letters. Sarah Jay's health is not much improved.
