- Summary
- Kenneth Rendell Catalog # 45 (1970), item 40. Autograph Letter signed, 1 p., New York. With address leaf docketed by Jay. Reply to Jay's letter of 22 August. The condition of refunding $100 for every day less than eight that Burr spent at Hartford was so peculiar that Burr called on Hamilton to make sure there had been no confusion. It seems that confusion, did, indeed exist between Hamilton and Jay. Hamilton "supposes that the eight days are to be counted on the whole time of absence." Under this interpretation, Burr will accept the assignment.
