Summary
The New York legislature is now meeting and Livingston plans to attend everyday. Despises any thought of popularity, because although he loves his fellow creatures and he does not esteem them. Not interested in being a party politician. Feels himself superior to the politics in which he is engaged. Will only go abroad if he is given the proper station and companions due his position in this country.
