- Fears miscarriage of letters. Two to Mrs. recently fell into enemy hands .Congress refused to accept Schuyler's resignation. New England and Pennsylvania (under the influence of New England) were against him. New York and the South in his favor. Hopes Schuyler will stay in the Army and gather laurels for himself and his country. Do not give in to the ingratitude of the country. The main Army should be your proper object. This campaign will in all probability be the last.
