Summary
Duane doubts whether colonies like Maryland and Pennsylvania will accept the preamble to the recent resolutions which calls for independence. The orators of Virginia headed by Col. Henry are against a change of government. Col. Nelson says the people are for it. The late election in New York shows that those who had assumed power were unsupported by the people. Thus does not think New York will change her government precipitously. Let us wait a few weeks to see the extent of the union of the colonies.
