Papal bull copy, 1246, Dec. 4, from Pope Innocent IV to the Hospital of Saint Mary in Mechelen
Abstract
Copy of papal bull issued December 4, 1246 by Innocent IV confirming to the sisters of the hospital of Saint Mary in Mechelen, Belgium, its existence, liberties, and adherence to the rule of St. Augustine. The copy is dated "Anno D[omi]ni MCCC q[ui]nto, sabbato ante ap[osto]lo[rum] Symonis [et] Iude" [i.e. October 23, 1305], and affirmed by Franco Cantor, called “de stabulo,” canon of the church of St. Rumold in Mechelen and Laurencius called “Rogaes,” parish priest of the church of St. Mary in Mechelen.
