- This same photo appears in the book, 'A Man of the Frontier by Nick and Deki Rhodes (Deki is Laden La's grand-daughter). Laden La acted as an aid to the Dalai Lama while in exile in India (1910-1912) and in the 1920s he organized the Lhasa Police Forc e.
