- Oral history interview with Tibetan refugees from Ngari; including Sonam Tsering? (Tib.Bsod nams tshe ring?), who was born in 1953 in Purang in the western region of Ngari, Tibet (Tib. Mnga' ris Spu rang), escaped to India in 1959 at the age of 6, and relocated in 1967 to the Mundgod Tibetan settlement in southern India; Lodrö Ngodrup (Tib. Blo gros dngos grub, also Lodroe Ngodrup) from Ngari Puran g (Mnga' ris Spu rang), who arrived in 1960 in India and discusses traditional life, farming, land ownership and social structures in Purang, land ownership, first arrival of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, subsequent attacks on local monasteries, lamas, etc., and his escape and life in India; Pema Tsultrim(?) (Tib. Padma tshul khrims), born circa 1944 in Toling (Tib. Mtho-gling?, also Toding?), a nomad family of nine -- discusses escape to India in 1960 at the age of 15, nomadic life prior to the arrival of Chinese troops the expulsion of monks; a Tibetan man (72 years old) , escaped at age of 18; an elderly man whose parents were arrested. Also includes an interview with a 72-year old man from Cona (Tib. Mtsho sna ; Ch. Cuona) who was an eyewitness when the Dalai Lama passed through his town while escaping to Tibet; the interviewee experienced Democratic Reforms and the Cultural Revolution firsthand before escaping to India circa 1968. Also, interviews with three other refugees who experienced Democratic Reforms and the Cultural Revolution prior to their escape to India.
