- Abstract
- Jeremy Steig, Adrian Guillory, Dick Davie, and Arlo Guthrie. The tape begins with a recording of a routine about a flat world. Bob comments that Radio Unnameable cannot play the version of "Alice's Restaurant" that it had been playing because Arlo doesn't like the recording. Arlo Guthrie introduces and plays "Alice's Restaurant Massacree Part 2," which is "Different than any other version." (The ve rsion played is the general mythic version with slight unique details like "dead cow in the hallway.") Bob says that Arlo Guthrie is in the studio. Arlo introduces Steve Elliott. There is a brief discussion about the different versions of Alice's Restaurant." Bob asks Arlo to stay. Jeremy Steig is also there. Bob discusses a variety of subjects with Dick Davie, who also takes phone calls. Callers choose which version of "Alice's Restaurant" is "better." Dick Davie mentions Jean Shepard. Bob joins in and mentions that "Alice's Restaurant" is not on any record that you can buy. The mikes are opened in the studio and Jeremy Steig and Adrian Guillory are playing an instrumental into "Let Me Tell You People (Just What's Going On)." Dick Davie continues to take calls. Callers like the first version of "Alice's Restaurant" better
