- Governor Albert Brewer of Alabama introduces Vice President Spiro Agnew. Agnew then gives a speech to the Alabama audience in which he defends comments he made in Des Moines, Iowa. Spiro criticizes the New York Times, discusses amnesty for draft dodgers, and criticizes the anti-Vietnam protests around the country. The occasion is a Chamber of Commerce banquet held at the Jefferson Davis Hotel in M ontgomery, AL.
