- Abstract
- Donor notes: Info about Mike Smith trio written and crossed out. Tape recorded on both sides. Side 1 = Juma and Simmons duo. Precurosor to "Song of Siarah" on Manhattan Egos. Named after girl in Chicago. Sonny had hots for her. Simmons chanting in toungues, syllabics. Traces of Arabic words. Drums are handmade by Juma. He made drums out of barrells. Nairb = Brian Ross or Brian Rosenstein. Juma reme mbers him coming to New York and trying to blow other people out. Not respectful. 26:36 in part 2, Juma goes into one of his tunes "The Dance." 30:40 goes into "Fan Dance" has a sort of Calypso feel. Juma made the bamboo flute that Sonny plays in part 2.
