- Donor notes: Tape box identifies Jimi and AMS. Side 1 has no audio for first several minutes before the AMS session starts. Juma on alto here. Second item on side 1 is Jimi Hendrix with the Last Poets - an unreleased studio recording. Part 4 is cuts f rom Electric Ladyland. Seems like it might be dubs from the session reel, though. I think there is an alternate take of Freedom, here! This continues onto side 2, which begins with more guitar overdubs for the solo on "Freedom." After that is more experimentation with th following song, which begins with lyric "Drifting." They experiement with playing the tape backwards and having Jimi solo over it. Incredibly long and fascinating time working on Drifting - retrying overdubs over and over. Sometimes playing tape backwards.Commercial recordStudio rec (Electric Ladyland)
