Born and raised Chicago, Illinois, 1918. Education: DePaul Drama School. Pursued acting. Involved in Actors’ Equity Association. Personal experience with housing problems led to the proposal to assist actors’ housing through Actors’ Equity Association. Advocated for on-stage actors to be considered a minority and based on income level should be eligible for low or middle income housing. Involved w ith Manhattan Plaza, developed guidelines for renting and admittance of performing artists. Personal experiences as a tenant, pet restrictions, maintenance of Manhattan Plaza.
