- Television series introduces viewers to sites and culture in and around Lhasa: Potala Palace, with commentary by Luosang Tudeng (Director of the Research Institute of the Potala’s Culture and History), Tudeng Jiangba Lama (Potala Palace), Geranggexi Yixiwangju (Vice President of the Tibet Buddhist Association), Longdun Banjue (writer and grandnephew of the 13th Dalai Lama), and Qoyang (Director o f the Potala Renovation Office) on the 1989 renovation project on the Potala. Second episode introduces traditional food and drink. Third episode includes introduction to Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, Ngapoi Ngawang Jigme (Nga-phod Ngag-dbang-’jigs-med,) and the 17-Point Agreement. Gold and silver sculpture-making in Namling County, Shigatse, with interviews with coppersmith Zanbaduojie, goldsmith Bangong; briefly mentions other traditional arts and design. Viewers are also introduced to Sakya Monastery and the Sakya tradition. Includes commentary by Qoyang Luosansangbo, an incarnation of Sakya Monastery.
