The IFP Program in Kenya was hosted by Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE). FAWE is a pan-African Non-Governmental Organization working in 32 African countries to empower girls and women through gender-responsive education. In 2001-2010, IFP Kenya selected 128 beneficiaries and awarded scholarships for 23 doctorate-level programs and 105 master-level programs. The program’s Alumni joined the IFP Kenya Alumni Association, formed in 2005.
The documentation in the archive includes administrative program files, fellow files, audiovisual materials and archived websites. Paper files arrived in two installments: 6.25 linear feet in May 2013 and another 1.25 linear feet in July 2013, after the Kenya office was closed in June. 16.8 GB of digital materials were received in July 2013. 100 Fellows gave their consent to granting researchers access to their files.
